I have a Penn-Plax FT-20 TRI-LUX, I just started the tank and two of my plants are already going brown, anubias barteri and anubias nana,
not enough wattage? what is the wattage of the Penn? any suggestions?

It should be around 18 watts. That's not enough light. But I think your problem could be diatom algae. Does it wipe off the leaves?

Even for Anubias in your 29 gallon tank you want to have 1.5 wpg.

nO I just set the tank up yesterday.

Any reccomendations to light tubes that fit a 29 that are minimum 40 wattS? Or do I need a double lamp setup? What lights are good for plants? Flourescents?

if you're handy with wood - check out our DIY forum, for around $100 you can build a dual 55watt power compact setup that should give you plenty of light for a 29

there is also something called the 96 watt quad, that is a 8" x 18" 96 watt bulb.
