Planted tank for cherry shrimp

With 15 watts you should be able to grow low to medium light plants, yet still keep it fairly low maintenance. It'll take some trial and error to find out exactly how much light you have and what you can grow.
 
To neilanh, all I want to do is to have the proper plants for the cherry shrimp to thrive and be happy. It looks like I should get java moss.

To be honest, the shrimps will probably be happy with just about any plants you put in there. Back when I had my 10 gal RCS tank going, I had java moss, a few small swords, some small crypts, and some vals. The shrimp and shrimplets crawled over all of them regularly--though there is no doubt that both adults and babies alike loved the java moss in particular.
