Can I get basic plants at petco to scape a very nice planted aquarium?

You can get plants at Petco, Petsmart, but they are not the greatest quality. The selection is also pretty limited. Maybe consider purchasing plants from people on the forum. Or check out the plantedtankforum.

You should try Extraplant.com or Peabody's Paradise. Ordering on line you get plants fresh from the grower instead of plants that have sat in plastic tubes for weeks or months. OS.
