I have a Walmart apon and a Walmart Lilly and possibly a couple more alone. Coming... but day before yesterday I took them out of there little net-safe haven (see picture) and I found one leaf of both floating around and I can see where they were nibbled off the plants and so I put them back

My stock:
1 pleco
1mistery cat
5 penguin tetras
5 rummy nose tetras
1 red something minnow can remember because it was supposed to be a tummy nose
Can Anyone figure out the culprit

It's true that Rummynose have been known to dine on plants, they usually prefer very soft plants. What looks like is being "eaten" is a Dwarf Saggitura.

I would like to know the size tank and lighting type. To me it looks more as an insufficient amount of lighting as the plant seems to be losing whole leaves. Usually fish don't eat the base of the leaves.

*EDIT* sorry, just saw that it is an Aponogeton being eaten.

Any tetra is capable of eating plants as the are omnivores but most small tetras don't. I've kept rummy nose tetras for over 20 years and have never seen them nibble on plants. If the wanna be fish has a red nose like a rummy nose my guess is it's a rummy nose rasbora, Sawbwa resplendens. What exactly is the mystery cat? Pleco's can snap plants off while trying to get to algae, they don't snap them off deliberately.

Uhm just a two inch long cat... The lady sed it was an upside down catfish.... I was naive and said "ok" and bought it... Fifty gallon with two fifteen watt stock light thinking bout buying two twenty watt ones soon though
