I too was contemplating moneywort...but if it is, I think it's emersed growth...and that's why it just doesn't look right.

might simply need to revisit it in a month after its converted to submersed growth.

Well, again, it does look a bit like the moneywort. The leaves look longer though, and more narrow. I don't know if it will help at all, but I took some macro pics of the leaves and stems and some new leaves popping up.
Also I wanted to say thanks guys for all your help

Good on you with the extra photos....you have provided additional clues:

1. Leaves sprout opposite each other in pairs.

2. Leaves show slight serration along edge.

3. Leaves are somewhat, although not severely, teardrop shaped.
