Please ID this

I have found this growing in my tank. I am not sure what this is or where it came from. It looks like hair grass BUT I do not have any in my tank. (the white spots are my snail eggs) Maybe its an algae? Sorry the pic is sideways I am having some issues with it.

That is an interesting plant. When you bought your bigger plant was it in a dry tube or submerged?

That is roots from the plant above protruding from the substrate
