Pointers on starting a tank with lots of plants

So I'm thing of doing a very green, lots of plants type tank. What are some pointers i should take into consideration when doing this? Any advice would help!

You might want to go to the Stickies section at the top of the Freshwater Planted threads and check out the articles posted there. They are very helpful. Of course, you may end up with more questions after going through the articles.

It depends on what type of tank you want to do or really how much you want to spend. I have seen beautiful low light/low tech and at the other end of the spectrum of high tech/High light tanks.

The first thing you need to do is decide the type of plants you like and then determine the type of lighting you need. Your lighting will determine the type of plants you can successfully grow.
