Purple Night Bulb????

I found this purple light, I don't know if it is actually a night aquarium light or if it is just purple. It looks like it would be used at night.

Should I use it or not? It's on my planted tank and I don't know if it will effect the plants or the fish or something.


Here is a picture of the tank with the light, it's pretty cool actually, haven't left it on all night yet though, want to wait till I get an answer from you guys.

Looks like a "black" ultraviolet light, it's bad for your eyes and your fish.

If you want some illumination at night use blue moonlights - no effect to the fish or plants, and gives a cool nighttime feel to the tank.

I could do that, I wasn't planning on it, I just had the bulb on hand and wanted to know what it was.
