No, it isn't-you may stress the fish a little but they should be fine. First, what kind of lighting do you have? How many watts? Incandescent or flourescent? How many gallons is your tank?

75watts is too much light for a 10g. If it's a common pleco it will outgrow that tank.

You Pleco will probaly outgrow your tank if it is common one. If it is a rubber Pleco or a smaller ones it might be okay.

You have a lot of wattage and can probably grow anything. Make sure the bulb is a day light bulb or have a Kelvin rating of 5000-6500. Otherwise, you dot have the lighting. Now do you want easy to care plants? I would recommend java fern, water wisteria, anubias, swords, or java moss. This plants are really easy to grow and will grow in any type of water conditions and substrate. There some plants that major pet stores sale don't belong in water-bamboo plants and a lot more, do your research to save your money.

If you google, planted tanks for beginners there is plenty more info you can learn what you need. If you go easy, don't need to worry about fertilizer, CO2, etc. Also google beginner plants for planted tank and will tell you too what kind plants you need. Best of luck!
