I had been contemplating on buying a pair of straight pinsettes. However, while looking through various options I discovered there are actually 2 types of the equipment. One that is precision tipped[or pointed tip], and the other, that is blunt, or the round tip. Can anyone tell me the difference especially when it comes to planting soft stemmed or foreground plants? Seems the precision tips are manufactured primarily by the big guns like ADA, GLA etc

I have both type, and while I got along just fine using the blunt tip, I find that the precision point gets way more action. Why? Well, it's so much easier to plant stems and small clumps of carpeting type flora. Mine are GLA, but I was lucky enough to get them when they were on clearance. Regular price is pretty high. But I recall seeing some very similar pinsettes in eBay for much less. I don't see them now, but they pop up from time to time.
