Question: Live plants and the fishless cycle

Has anyone made a planted tank and used a fishless cycle. When do you and the live plants? TIA to anyone who answers.

Stop! Read the Sticky FAQ at the top of this forum. Then read my FAQ. I cover the "silent cycle" which works much better for a planted tank than the fishless cycle.

Fishless cycles are for FISH tanks. There are several pitfalls to using an ammonia based fishless cycle on a planted tank.

I have used the silent cycle method on several tanks though and have had great luck with it.
