2 of my plants seem to be dying or at least they look that way:confused: should I take them out .......my water is fine 0 amonnia nitrites0 and nitrates 40
see there is another plant in there that started dying but now has all new growth, so trying to find out what to do I am new to plants this is my 1st try at plants:confused:

Is it in the 29g tank? What light fixture do you have on the tank and what types of plants are they? I am guessing that you don't have enough light for the plants and they are dying because of that.

added pics so you can tell what they are

Yeah, those are definitely swords and it's definitely a lack of light that is killing them. The stock lighting is probably around 20-25W and you will need the equivalent of 2.0-2.5 watts per gallon or so for swords to grow properly. Those plants will die unless you get them better lighting. Also, you will need to add fertilizers to the tank for them since I see you have only gravel. For the most inexpensive lighting I can think of off the top of my head for a 29 gallon tank you will be looking at spending roughly $60 in order to grow plants. Then, you will have to figure in an additional $15 in fertilizer/plant food. You may also need to add CO2 to the tank and unless you use one of the messy DIY setups with yeast, you will be looking to spend an additional $100 or more easily.

ok then im taking them out.the guys in the store told me that these were good to get grrrrrrrr I cant afford all that right now.....im not ready for plant I guess and im also getting a 55 gal oh well I really tried
thank you

There are some plants that you can still grow with stock lighting. Take a look at Anubias, Java Moss, Java Ferns, and Crypts.
