Red tree finger sponge

I recently got two red tree finger sponges. One is doing good and still has its red color. The other turning white and transparent. I could still see a "core" under the transparency. Is it shedding or dying? They are both in the substrate so levels of light should be similar. It is still red at the base I have in the sand but the exposed part is turning. Any ideas or experience with these sponges? I put them in about 5 days ago.
