Let me start by saying my local water runs high for nitrates usually 30-40. I will be starting a 75g very planted tank shortly, just waiting on the last bit of money to come in. My parents will be getting me a 75gpd RO/DI for my birthday for my reef tank. IF my planted set up does not take care of my high nitrates, what is the procedure to using RO/DI in freshwater?

Is it just as simple as using a special conditioner?

thanks

You need to add a GH booster, such as Seachem's Equilibrium or premade mixes sold by most places that you can buy dry ferts, as well as restore KH to a desired level.
