there are a few amazon swords and then a bunch of small stem plants in my aquarium. I have rotala indica and rotala walichi. Anyway, just about every day i notice huge pieces of the rotala floating on the top, and they are well planted... i think the barbs are biting them off! I see them nip at the leaves, (most of them are bare now:( )will i have to stick to broadleaved plants with these fish? I also have dwarf saggitaria in the foreground that is doing great, and the sword plants are doing awesome. What sort of plants are good to have with rosey barbs?

My barbs will destroy anything with small delicate leaves. Amazon swords do ok as well as java fern, java moss, crypts, brazilian pennywort, and alternanthera(?) They ate bacopa, rotala, stargrass, anacharis and kept pulling up my dwarf hair grass. They are little pigs! :) HTH!

i'd bet some money on the red tailed loach too...
include a little more veggie matter in their diet...might do the trick...
