Does the flourite ever wear out? Im wondering if it would ever be necessary to replace the gravel. Thanks

Seachem's own website states that Flourite does not need to be replaced. This is because it only contains micro nutrients that aren't depleted unless actively transported by plant roots.

Thanks for the reply. So if it were a planted tank, then it's possible that the nutrients can be depleted?

From what I have been able to learn is that the value of flourite has to do with the ability to bond with the trace elements such as iron and ammonia in a form that is easily accessed by the plant roots.
