I was just checkin it out. Can I replace all the carbon with seachem matrix and purigen?

Do you guys know what a good co2 system is for a 25 gallon? Also, is co2 really necessary?

Not sure what matrix is, but yes, you can replace the carbon with purigen.

Matrix removes excess ammonia, nitrites, AND nitrates. although I believe the jury is still out on the nitrates. I decided to try it out but haven't had any truly conclusive results.

Your water is cloudy from tbe silicates in your water. A few water changes and it'll be up to par with crystal clear water but it takes time and patience. When you add new water in, try and not stir things around too

Here are my tanks..

Update on my tank. Plants have started growing in. My java moss decided it doesn't want to be on the log, but all around my tank.

That Nesaea red must be pretty new if its still red lol. Very tough to keep red and vibrant

In the 55g its brand new.. The 27g hex you saw it was a few weeks old.. The new growth is more light orange.. which is fine.. I don't have a very high light setup on my hex.. My 30g has nesaea as well but its had it for like over a month now.. It has like 2 inches of new growth and its a deep orange and the old red is holding fine that tank has a medium light setup 2xT5NO and the tank is only 16 inches tall. VS my hex which is 26 inches and using 3x T8 bulbs.. lol.. My hex's Limnophila hippuroides are all green now and in the 30g with the T5's they are all bright pink.. So yea my nesaea in the 27hex will probably be green as well in time.. That's ok it looks good even when green... I might just upgrade the lighting though down the road.. Get a duel T5 HO light sadly they only make 24 inch ones for the shortest and my tank is only 20 inches wide... so itll overhang the side by a few inches but im fine with that.

I just had to dip all my neseae and my Limnophila hippuroides and other plants in a diluted bleach solution because the 30g is getting black beard algae and it was all over my nesease and that other plant... 30-60 seconds in the bleach water killed that BBA instantly and the diatoms which was a plus lol.. and the plant it self seems to be fine..

My 55 gal, I'm loving the way this tank is taking shape. Let me know what y'all think. That hygro is going crazy! I love it. I'm happy my staurogyne Repens are doing a lot better.
