I fist will say that this is my first go at a planted tank. For some reason I was always under the impression that plants would be to hard and the fish would eat them but the tank has really taken off.

If it was me I would add plants onto some of the wood. Say same anubias or java fern or some kind of moss

Xmas or flame moss would be good just stay away from java moss. It is a pain.

Java fern should always be tied on to rocks or driftwood. It will die if you bury the rhizome in the substrate. I tie mine on to driftwood with black thread. Works great.
