Hey guys! I'm starting to get my 20 gallon fresh water tank going. I can't find any threads about how to sterilize plants before planting them in the tank. Any suggestions are so appreciated!:thanks:

Potassium permanganate would be a good way. Prepairing the solution in a bucket than leaving the plants in the solution for 10 min. Most suggest that you should not submerge the roots but i submerge the whole plant with no problems. The solution should be dark purple when you prepaire it. Another way is with a solution of bleach (unscented!!!). Bleach should be diluted 19:1 water:bleach. The plants should only be submerged in this solution for a short time (1min should be enough) then thorougly rinsed after the bath.
