my 55gal is nearing the end of its cycle, so i thought i'd better start thinking about what to put in it.. in the past it was known that 1 inch of fish per gallon of water was an acceptable rule of thumb for stocking, does that still hold up today??? how about the order in which i stock, i've read that stocking from the top down is the way to go, but others often get their algae eaters first, and others say that if you want to keep shrimp to get them first... i planted at the begining of my cycle (fairly densly), any ideas/suggestions here would help!

as of now i would like:

Cardinal tetras
Rummy Nose tetras
Lemon tetras
Ember tetras
possibly a few galaxy/celestial danios

Dwarf corys
Dwarf loaches
possible a few Ottos

Cherry Shrimp

wow there are so many different kinds of tetras that i wouldnt even know where to start.
