I would get it for cosmetics only. For UV sterilizers to be effective, they need the water to be within a certain distance from the light for a certain amount of time. I highly doubt you would get that by just sticking a bulb in your tank.

The fish might look really cool though!
 
Umm yeah..

First, UV kills organics, when a fish swims by, what happens? They get a really nice tan..

Second. Submerged moonlight? not very natural..

Probably just a blue cold cathode with water proof caps. Could be why it says not to touch the transformer when your hands are wet (Cold cathodes run at a high voltage)
 
its definitely a water tight cold cathode. zero UV is gonna be generated, and it'll be very bright compared to moonlight.
 
Looks like someone took a light intended to make the inside of you PC look nice, and is selling it for aquariums. If it really gave off UV's it would be dangerous..... Kill germs, and get a suntan while you watchyour tank?
