Perfect hoping to set up RCS planted low tech. Only problem is that my filter and light run through one outlet so I can have my light on a timer! Any suggestions?

I use a power strip with a surge protector. I plug my filter into that. My lights plug into a Timer, which is then plugged into the power strip.

Ok I have a power strip for my 2 tanks but what I mean is on my chi, the light and the filter use 1 outlet and they look like a box with a light on the bottom and has a switch on the back.
