Currently I have pool sand in my tank. I have a 75 gal tank planted. I have had a hard time keeping this sand looking nice. Soon I will be taking this tank down to move it to another wall and keep it there for good. I want to do Eco complete for the bottom. So instead of removing all the sand can I mix the Eco complete and sand? Or put the Eco complete on top of the sand? Is this a no no? Please advise me of how to do this. Thanks

This is just personal preference, but I'd remove the sand. I'm not too fond of the mix substrate cake layer look. Plus, in some cases when the eco complete gets really clogged up with detritus / mulm, I like to give it a gentle gravel vac to freshen it up (usually after 7-12 months). This would be hard to do with sand in the mix. Again, just my opinion.
