I recently got back into real plants after having no success in previous cichlid tanks. not in a tropical the yseem to be doing ok so far. I currently have medium gravel base with sand top. I would like to do some kind of floor covering, possibly moss or something grassy. I have some amazom swords and some others also. If I ass anything though it needs to be while the tank is running with the fish in it. let mw kow of any recomendations. thanks. Dan

If you have fine sand on top of gravel, it is only a matter of time before the sand finds it's way to the bottom of the gravel.

There is a Sticky on Substrates in the Planted Tank forum. I suggest that you check it out as it will answer many of your questions.
