You may want to keep an eye on algae with the Hagen set up because it might not be enough Co2. However, if you do a DIY Co2, keeping the Hagen ladder for diffusing, it can work out nicely. You can even use a T valve, keep using the Hagen, but hook another bottle up to the Hagen.
 
My pH is 7.0. I need to keep an eye on it, but I know what it is now. And yes, I do need to test KH, but I don't have a test kit for it.

I will keep an eye on algae, but I have a flying fox in there that would love the opportunity to munch on it so I'm not too worried about it. Maybe my gold nugget pleco will get involved too, although I know they are omnivores.
 
I think she is trying to say if there is algae growing in the tank that you are not getting enough CO2 in the tank for your plants.. just an observation... :D
