t5 lights?

im thinking about getting a t5 light for my 20 gallon. since t5's put out more light than normal lights, how much would i need?. would a 48 watt t5 be overkill?

and also can you buy t5 bulbs from like home depot? (24")

I have 48w on my 20g. You can buy t5 bulbs at home depo and even walmart, the problem I have around here (don't know if it would be the same for you) is the highest wattage I can find is 13w. I had to order replacement 24w bulbs online.

you know, I have no idea. You could search around in the planted tank forum for t5s. There have been lots of posts over there.

I bought the 24" t-5 with 14w bulbs a few weeks ago. I've got low light anubias, etc, so it works for me. I supported my LFS and bought it for $52, but I think you can get it for like $20 less online. The plants are growing like mad...for anubias and crypts.
