Tannins on driftwood

Will tannins from mopani driftwood harm fish in any way!?

Tannins will not harm fish at all. Tannin stained water just looks bad. If you want to avoid the tannins all together, you could boil the driftwood in a large pot for a while.

You can throw a purigen (seachem) pack in your filter...It will soak up tannins.

Brilliant thanks for feedback. I did boil them but obviously not for long enough or thoroughly enough! It doesn't look too bad but does have a darker than normal tint to the water. I will look into getting the pad for my filter anyway.

Yeah, purigen is a lifesaver, the tannins will be gone overnight.
