this plant has long flat leaves that grow taller than your tank and flatten-out on the surface of the water (i can't remember what the name is)

can you tell me how this plant is propagated?

i was way off the mark

i have since learned the plant's name is Valisneria . . . and i've discovered they propagate with runners.
