Trying to understand ferts

I have a couple of planted tanks. Almost all of the plants are crypts, Anubis, swords, banana plants that have root tabs underneath. I also use excel daily.

I have read some threads using K2SO4, KNO3, MKP, MGSO4, & CSM+B mixture. Since most of my plants don't take nutrients out of the water column, would my tanks benefit from this daily dosing?

I have the Greg Watson guide and will reread it now too.

I guess I also want to know should I be using both?

With those plants, I'd say the root tabs would be sufficient. None are demanding or really fast growers...

Adding water colum ferts will probably get you algae anyways. I'd stick with what you've got unless you get some more plants..
