Hello,

I would like to refresh my substrate with some fresh nutrient enriched, replace my manzanita with a nice piece of mopani and move some plants around.

My question: is uprooting to move the plants going to put them into shock or hurt them? Is it okay to pull them out, put them in water, add new substrate and replant?

Thanks for any help.

When I uprooted my plants, I dug my hand in a few inches away and loosened the dirt from below. When everything was falling apart, I pulled the plants out, gave them a swish and put them in tank water I had siphoned out. No casualties.

As long as you are gentle, you should be ok. I recently moved, so all my plants went into buckets and they were fine. Just make sure they stay wet!
