Has anyone grown water lillies in an aquarium? My setup I'm working on has a lower water level than the top of the tank so I wanted to try something on the surface.

I've grown them in an outdoor pond but never indoors. Would the artificial light be enough for it to bloom?

There are many lily species that do well in aquariums. A pretty common one is the banana lily, and also the red tiger lotus, which has bigger leaves. I'm not sure about whether they'll bloom though.

There's many floating plants available too. Water lettuce, frogbit and cardamine (or pennywort, similar plants) might be able to create the effect you're after. Just have a look at a few :)
