Water softener and plants?

I was wondering how they'd do with a water softener. I use these 50lb salt blocks, and I'm starting to dose ks04, caso4, and mgso4, kh2po4, kno3, k2so4, and csm+b.

Is the problem the salt being in the water or is it that it takes out minerals?

The problem is the salt. Plants don't like salt. If you must use water that has gone through a water softener, then it will help if you can use the Potassium stuff rather than the more common salt for water softeners.
