What's the right way to trim this "weed". The plant has over took my 55 gal high tech tank. Gotten over 5+ 12 inch+ plant rootlings. Can I just go to cutting or do i need to do somthing so I don't kill it. Thanks! ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1407300705.293185.jpg

You can cut it anywhere you want however know that it won't grow new leaves out of the cut for a long time if at all. I found that the best place for me to cut it while I still owned some was at the branching points.I started out with 1 3" stem and it turned into a whole 10g full. Eventually I got rid of it because it didn't fit in a 10g and didn't work w/ my 25g.

From my experience pull it out completely and cut and replant the top half. Otherwise it looks like .... for a while after a trim. I leave the bases from my wisteria tied together loosely with fishing line and then leave the rest floating
