The base of my leaves are turning black. And there is a film around the roots.

I can't remember the name of the plant. It's a common beginner plant.

You can't plant it so its held onto a rock.

Tank is almost done cycling no fish to bother it.

I don't know what it is.Maybe somebody more experienced can help.

It could also be nutrient deficiencies.I will look it up and give you a link.

I dose the tank with Flourish Excel almost every day, 5 hours of light a day, no sunlight, and a little co2 injection via a pressurized system.

Check to make sure the rhizome isn't being damaged where its tied down.

Excel is a Carbon source. So are you only dosing Carbon or are you also dosing other ferts ?

I use Flourish comprehensive as well as API LeafZone so Macros and Micros are covered. I add those weekly after WCs

I add the regular Flourish (I believe it's comprehensive, not home to check bottle) twice a week. I'll check the Rhizome because all my other plants look fine it's just this one.

Edit: and I'll have to check on the LeafZone, I'm sure it's sold in my area just never heard of it.
