What is this black stuff on some of my plant leaves? How do I get rid of it? Is it a type of algae or is it diatoms?

I don't know if something is lacking in my tank or the leaves are just dying.

It looks like bba hard to tell from the pictures though. What are your tank specs. I had the same problem while fine tuning my co2.

I have:

2 Rams
2 Panda Garra
5 Cory Cats
7 Bentos Tetras

I will test my water and tell you the results ASAP

What your photoperiod, what kind of light do you have and do you use co2?

I have T5HO lighting that is 78 watts in total (2 bulbs). I run the light for about 9 hours. I use Natural Aquarium Vital 2-3 times a week for my CO2, but I don't think it helps any. Here were my readings:

Ammonia: 0
Nitrate: 2.5
pH: 7.2 (I am lowering it to about 6.6 or 6.8 at the moment)
Nitrite: 0
