What is this growing on my plants?

its spotty and hairy. the other one is just dark green or black spots

i am going to say that it is because those plants are not true aquatic plants, and don't belong fully submersed.

second to last pic looks more like mold then algae IMO i am going to have to agree with Waterpond on this one...2 years in the tank? you got lucky (no pun intended...lucky bamboo...lol)
