Hello,

I noticed some dots on Java fern leaves. Any idea what this is?

Ferns reproduce with those. I can't remember what their called. Spores!

Thank you for replying to so many of our questions: you really have been quite helpful.

So if the fern is growing spores, wouldn't that be an indication that the plant is healthy?

Your welcome. I have tapped out my knowledge at this point lol. I am not sure if the spores are a health indicator. I am a big fan of Java fern and have had needle leaf for 4-5 years. It does well when I leave it alone. Hates to have a leaf dry or it browns. Salt water dip melted it back to the rhizomes but like a champ it came back.
