What kind of plants will I grow with....

28W T5 lighting over a 55g? I am wanting to start of simple with anacharis, duckweed, and maybe some type of melon sword. However I don't know if this is enough light for many plants. If need be, I can get a T8 fixture for $20 and some bulbs, so changing over would be no big deal. Any input is appreciated.

anubias, java fern
putting a root tab under your sword will help as it's a heavy root feeder
i'd advise against duckweed. it's more of a nuisance than anything. ones you have it it's near impossible to get rid of. there's many other floaters available, dwarf water lettuce, several different kinds of salvinia, frog bit, and even red root floater (though it probably won't have much red hues under that amount of lighting)

Well, I already have duckweed. I guess I may as well spend the $20 on a T8 fixture if I want anything in the medium range, huh?
