it was in the shop as pennywort but every time I've gone to look at how to care for it, it shows plants that look different.

can someone please help?

It does look like a type of bacopa. Maybe giant bacopa (Amplexicaulis). Guessing after two cases of dos equis so I might be wrong. ^^

sexy.

only trouble is, within a day of being in my tank, I have small black spots developing on the leaves; the same ones that have slowly developed on my hemianthus macra and my java ferns.

is this a build up of phosphates? a dirty tank? my water changes have been at least 20-25% per week. co2 injected and 2.5 watts per gallon lighting. it's a new tank so I understand algae will build up - but is it algae? I've read about green spot algae but this stuff looks as black as
can be in light.

the 3 small fish I have don't touch it. the tank is quite clean.
how do I get rid of it?
