What plants will work best?

I am not a fan of anything I'd have to apply similar to a phone screen protector, because I end up with bubbles under it every time.

I paint most of my tanks, but this one has been running for a really long time, before I bothered starting to paint them, and I don't want to tear it down or get chemicals in the water.

Someone else had asked me why I trash bags rather than poster board and I mentioned to him that I'm accident prone. The poster board would warp and time I got it wet, which I do happen to do quite often, but luckily you can get trash bags wet as much as you like and don't have an issue, though they do kind of provide too much of a shine for my liking, it's livable.

Good luck with your red plant quest! It's definitely a PITA to figure out what exactly you need/want and what works best.
