what tests should i have

hey, i have a 46 gallon that i am going to be planting soon after i get my lights, which will be a 96W Compact floresent, i will be injecting co2 also, the tank has been up and running for over 2 years, there will be fish with the plants, i wanted to know what tests i will need, such at Kh, and do i need to be dosing the tank, should i use the generic plant trace + iron liquid that they have in the stores, or do i need to do each indipendently.

KH, PH and phosphate testkits. You may need to dose each independently. You can get the dry ferts at gregwatson.com, or use the flourish line of ferts. Flourish is an excellent trace fert or you can get the dry mix for traces from Greg as well.

Some of the more common ferts would be.

Potassium Nitrate (KNO3)
Potassium Sulfate (K2SO4)
Potassium Phosphate (KH2PO4)

CSM+B (trace mix)

The more common tests would be
Nitrate
Phosphate (there aren't many good ones out there tho)
KH/GH
PH

I ordered most of mine from Greg. good fast shipping.

Also, Co2 or Excel (carbon suppliment from Seachem). Carbon is vital to plant growth and is often neglected in low light tanks, even tho it can increase growth rates by 30% (this also helping plants to form nicely)

Just a note that the recommended Flourish Fertilizer for Traces is Flourish Comprehensive and NOT Flourish Trace.

Is Flourish comprehensive named just Flourish? I checked seachem website and they do not have anything saying Flourish comprehensive.

If you look closely at the bottle it says Comprehensive under Flourish, but yes it is the regular Flourish.

Edit:
My bust. I do believe it's the same. I looked it up again, and see where it says comp on the Flourish. Then I looked at my Flourish Comp here and it's the same label. Sorry... Was my bad...

i think seachem has new version of their flourish products. The images on new bottles looks different now. here in description they say "Flourishâ„¢ is a comprehensive plant supplement". And i am not able to locate Florish comprehensive on seachem website..
