As a student I don't have the space or time to find my own wood and cure itz

What are other sources of driftwood? Must purchased driftwood be cured? Does it matter what type of wood it is?

I'm new to planted tanks and I love the look of driftwood. I just dont know where to get it!

Thanks!

I get mine from Fosters & Smith LiveAquaria. Whether you need to soak, and for how long, depends on the wood you get. My mopani is still leaching tannins months and months later. But the malaysian doesn't and you usually don't have to do more than rinse that off before placement in the tank.

LFS's will have DW. As LyndaB said ... Mopani and Malaysian (looks more tree trunk/root like)are the brands to look for. Both leach tannins, but Mopani DW sinks ... which is a god send ... can't speak for Malaysian.

I bought some Malaysian DW from sweet aquatics. I bought there 10-15" sized woods, and it was definitely closer to 10" to 15", if you know what I mean....
