Hi I am awaiting my new 250litre tank and would like to add plants to it. I shall eventually get some discus when the water conditions are perfect for them. So need plants that lice in higher temperatures. I need the names of plants that will grow tall for the back and then gradually smaller to the front. I have some nice pieces of bogwood also and the substrate will be silica sand. I have a fluval 406. I won't use the hood filter that comes with tank.

Thank you

Most aquarium plants can live with a pH of 6.5 to 7.4. Although your bogwood may be a very pretty piece, if you are going to add it, I'd do so well in advance of adding fish, so you can see how much it will lower the pH of the water.

In addition to needing really pristine water conditions, discus are very sensitive to pH swings.
