Hi,

I have some ugly java fern that is overgrown and black at the ends and its attached to a piece of dated bogwood. I want to get rid of the java fern and replace the old bogwood with new. Will removing the plant have a drastic effect on the ph or can I just go for it? I have other plants in the tank.

Thanks

Jackie

Nope, go for it. You should have no change. If you replace the wood with new driftwood you may see a drop in ph but it usually isn't huge.

As Phish said, go for it. I've done that many times in many tanks and it really won't have an impact on the tank.
