I have a 3 gallon heavily planted betta tank, just the betta in there.

Well. Betta and a total jungle of plants.

I found a bargain on a 6 gallon rimless I'm picking up Saturday. The plants are currently in a little ADA aquasoil topped with icky fake Nat Geo sand.

Thoughts on swapping the substrate? I'm unconcerned with losing the bb in the existing substrate.

It's going to work and needs to look sleek (I have a front desk in a showroom for granite and quartz countertops).

IMO, aquasoil is the difference. It's pricey, but very effective substrate.. especially when it's fairly new and haven't fully depleted its nutrients. Amazonia is the most nutrient packed of the variety. But I do really like how Africana looks.

I can get Amazonia by the pound locally. So that's something.

Just know that ADA aquasoil leaches a lot of ammonia at first so you'll have to do a good amount of frequent partial water changes. Test the parameters before adding fish.
