Hey Guys,

I bought this gourami thinking it was a female (the guys at the petshop didn't know how to sex them since they are apparently still young) because the accompanying male I bought was bigger and had a very orange chin/throat.

Over the last few days, Ive been noticing that this gourami's anal fin has been growing and the chin/throat is starting to color up.

Also, it has a bit of a chin off its dorsal fin. Is that problematic?

Please let me know what you guys think!

It is hard to sex young pearl gouramis and even more so since they don't follow the usual gouramis rule of round dorsal for female and pointed for male. Males are more colorful and have longer fins and will turn orange on their underbelly. Females will be fatter with short fins and duller in color. My guess is this is a young male.
