I had some Rams in my planted tank and loved them. 105 gal with a couple of German blue, and golden rams. They will form there own territory (small). I had little to no problems with them. A blue and gold paired off and spawned on a regular basis. They would find a small protected area with minimal current and spawn there. Pretty good at protecting there spawn also. Incredible colors during spawn and mating process. Spawn never hatched, I think the cory cats got the nest, I would wake up one day and the spawn would be gone. I think they would just get too streessed defending the nest against all the tank mates(Discus, corys, tetras, etc.) and just give it up. No problem though because I'd feed a little more often and they would get back to the spawn in a couple of weeks(usually around the full and new moon). I will including them in my new set up at work 75gal. planted tank, might even be main fish in tank, no corys this time.

I watched my nephews fish for a few months while they were away and managed to kill their leporinous. Darn thing would newver eat. After the leporinous became part of the nitirfication cycle I found out that they are vegetarians. I think lettuce is what they like. Anyway that explained why it would never eat. I have seen some large 10"-12" at some suppliers.

Good call on the Figure 8 puffer. I have thought about a brackish tank (10 gal or so) for a puffer, but I have heard mixed reviews on them. A little more info is always welcome.

I saw some small spotted puffers at the LFS when I went on Friday and fell in love, also the Columbian Dogfish or something, brackish waters. May well turn my 11.1 gallon into a brackish set up once my guppy fry have grown up.

Will be good practice for my eventual marine set up too.
