Just wanted to say hi. I am in the early stages of starting my freshwater aquarium so thought I would join this forum I share my stories and look for some advice.

Welcome to AA! You made a wise choice to seek advice from a forum. I was in your shoes a few years back coming back in to the hobby and the folks here have certainly enlightened me with their collective experience. BTW, cherry barbs are a great starter fish for fish-in cycling. They're hardy and can tolerate the less than optimal water conditions in a new aquarium. Just some friendly advice, although they are hardy, still be diligent in doing partial water changes to reduce any ammonia and nitrites that can potential rise in a new un-cycled aquarium.
