I have 250#s of sand (about a 5" [acronym:22ee802f5a="Deep Sand Bed"]DSB[/acronym:22ee802f5a]) and 140#s of rock. The rock is sitting on top of pedistools made of 4" [acronym:22ee802f5a="Plastic pipe"]PVC[/acronym:22ee802f5a].

Im no engineer, but if some of the tag lines and other stories I've read on the net are true, you'll go broke buying [acronym:d17b8609a4="Live rock"]lr[/acronym:d17b8609a4] and sand before the tank bottom gives. However, it has made me wonder what the 'official' rating on some of these tanks are. Check out:

W W. Thats a lot of sand you got. I got 140lbs of PS and [acronym:5454925d36="Live sand"]LS[/acronym:5454925d36] (2 1/2 -3"). Just added another 45lbs fiji [acronym:5454925d36="Live rock"]LR[/acronym:5454925d36] into the tank last night. This would bring the total weight of rocks up to about 135lbs. So far so good.

Thanks for the info [acronym:f244d28db1="Power compact fluorescent"]PC[/acronym:f244d28db1]! According to All Glass, the specs for 75 [acronym:f244d28db1="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:f244d28db1] are: empty weight 98lbs, full weight 785lbs. Best of all, tempered bottomglass tank. I feel much better now, knowing i won't be coming home mopping up salt water on my hardwood floor.
