Bulkhead in Rubbermaid Sump
Would it be ok to drill holes and place bulkheads in Rubbermaid or any other brand storage containers without much worry, if done right of course?

We just installed our fuge last week. We drilled 2 holes in the side of a 10g container and put a bulkhead in each. We have one raised slightly higher than the other so that in the event that the one clogs the other will be a safety net. We also drilled a hole (that is supposed to have plumbers putty around it ... ahem... ) and put the return line back in through there. Cut a hole in the top and covered it with plexy to put the light hood over it.

Interesting Phyl -- could you post a picture of that set up? I'd like to add a sump to my 55 [acronym:cbd3920d06="Gallon"]gal[/acronym:cbd3920d06], and am looking to inexpensive alternatives.
Thanks. Matt |
